Canada Day

Monday this week was Canada day! On this day in 1867 England decided that three colonies should be one country. On this day in 2013 Brianna worked for 8 hours but because of industrial relations laws was payed as if she worked 12. God save the Queen! On this day in 2013 Australia commenced a new financial year, so Dan submitted an application for what should be a nice juicy tax return.

We decided to head downtown after work to see the celebrations, and saw some cool things along the way, including these:

Salvation Army giving away free food.

Kilted man playing bagpipes on the seabus over to North Vancouver

Beautiful girl looking at the city from North Vancouver

Couple of ninjas waiting for the fireworks to start

Fireworks. Happy Canada Day! Notice the artistic flair on this shot.

Also this week the 4th of July happened in Canada. Disappointingly, they had no fireworks to mark this occasion, but we went to a restaurant for a nice lunch, to the new community centre in Edmonds for a nice swim, and back home for a nice visit from the missionaries.

We also got new neighbours in the flat next to ours. One of them saw the missionaries coming into our flat and asked if we were Mormons. We said "yes". She said "My parents are Mormons. They have them over and feed the missionaries and stuff. Nice people." So there you go.

Till next week, love.
