Brianna finished another Spanish subject with a big exam and is already onto the next one. Ole!

The Richmond Night Market is open every evening during summer, and we went there this week. It's kind of like a cross between Paddy's Markets, and a fair without rides or grass, and an international food festival. It was held at a place called duck island, because of this big duck that is at the entrance:

We lined up to buy a few different kinds of foods that we hadn't tried before. Here are photos of them:

Takoyaki - squid and/or shrimp balls. 30 min wait. Guy making them kept randomly shouting some Japanese words followed by "Takoyaki!!!

Rotato potato - this was Brianna's favourite. All of the foods there were enjoyed under the watchful eye(s) of the giant duck.

Mango shaved ice with tofu pudding.

Dan saw a truck selling fried Mars bars, but recoiled in horror when he saw they were charging $6 per bar. Can you believe that? The next day he made his own for a fraction of the price:

He didn't have all the fancy gear so the bars were fried onto cutlery, but they were delicious. Ole!

And that's about it.

    1. Oh, ha. Maybe they were trying to save money or something. The guy who was calling out could have actually been saying "WE USE SQUID AND SHRIMP THIS ISN'T REAL TAKOYAKI!!"
